Scalemaster makes its mark

Scalemaster, a leading manufacturer of corrosion and limescale protection products, has been validated to carry the Benchmark mark of quality for domestic heating.

The code of practice was launched in 1999 to raise the standards of quality in the central heating systems industry, and has already received praise from the Government.

Scalemaster’s Managing Director, Dennis Brown, explained: "Being part of the domestic heating industry through our production of water treatment products means we want to participate in building a better reputation for quality in the UK industry.

"Benchmark is being taken very seriously by not only trade but also consumers, who want better quality work in their homes. We proudly carry this mark of quality and strongly support the initiative to deliver a better service to consumers."

All new boilers sold within the UK are accompanied by a Benchmark log book, which is filled in and left with the customer. It also encourages regular servicing of central heating systems, so it is also a vehicle for ensuring more energy efficient boilers are used in the future to cut down on CO2 emissions.

Dennis added: "It is in the hands of industry members to help raise standards of quality – and together we can make a positive difference."
